Harvest Academy Leadership Council (HALC), a council of secondary school students, organized an exciting badminton tournament successfully on March 18, 2023. The full-day event aimed to promote sports activities and cultivate the values of respect and sportsmanship in young people.
"The Badminton Tournament 2023 saw close to 100 participants who competed with great enthusiasm and energy. The tournament also contributed towards SDG 3, promoting well-being for all ages, and SDG 16, promoting peaceful and inclusive societies for sustainable development," said the President of HALC, Mr Teoh Jiankai.
The young leaders of HALC, with the support of Harvest Academy, organized the event with great finesse and made sure it was a success. The event was managed exceptionally well by the committee members who displayed remarkable project management skills, even though it was their first event. Their efforts provided a platform for youths to participate and showcase their skills in badminton.
As a school, Harvest Academy has always encouraged its students to take up leadership roles and become responsible citizens. The HALC Badminton Tournament 2023 was an excellent example of how the school has empowered its students to take up initiatives and contribute towards sustainable development goals.
The event was truly inspiring and had a positive impact on everyone who participated in it. The event was not only a success in promoting sportsmanship, but it also showcased the school's commitment to nurturing its students as responsible leaders. We look forward to more such events in the future and are proud of our students for their exceptional leadership skills.
